The Part a Calendar Cannot Do.

More than a one-time alert

A calendar reminder can pop up and disappear. Reminders keeps following up on the schedule you choose until someone confirms it is handled.

Built around confirmation

The important part is not that a notification was sent. It is whether someone responded, acknowledged it, or marked the care date done.

A backup can be notified

If nobody responds after the follow-up window, Reminders can tell a trusted backup contact that the reminder still needs attention.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Reminders for?

Reminders is for important care dates that should not be left to one calendar alert: parent checkups, post-surgery follow-ups, children's vaccinations and health forms, pet care dates, and shared family routines. Renewal and professional follow-up reminders are still supported too.

How are reminders sent?

Every reminder has a due date and a schedule. Reminders sends email follow-ups, and Plus or Priority Reminder users can also use SMS with a verified Canada/US (+1) phone number. Every schedule includes the due date.

How does backup contact follow-up work?

If a sent reminder notification is not acknowledged, Reminders can notify a trusted backup contact 7 days later. Acknowledging that notification stops backup follow-up for that occurrence, while future scheduled reminders still run.

What does the backup contact see?

They receive a short message with the reminder title, who added them as backup, and that the reminder is still unconfirmed. They do not get account access, billing access, unrelated reminders, notes, or history.

Does my backup contact need to create an account?

No. They only need to receive the backup message and can stop further backup notifications for that reminder. They do not need the app, an account, or a sign-up flow.

What information is stored?

A reminder uses a title, a due date, optional notes, and the contact details needed for delivery. Do not add medical records, health card numbers, ID numbers, insurance policy numbers, or other sensitive identifiers. No document uploads are required.

What is included on Free, Plus, and Priority Reminder?

Free includes 3 active one-time reminders by email, up to 2 years ahead, with backup contact follow-up by email. Plus includes up to 50 reminders, repeating reminders, SMS, backup contacts, and dates up to 10 years ahead. Priority Reminder is a one-time $5 purchase for one specific care date, with optional SMS and backup contact follow-up.

Is SMS available everywhere?

No. SMS reminders currently require a verified Canada/US (+1) phone number and are available with Plus or Priority Reminder. Email reminders remain available when SMS is unavailable, disabled, or capped.

Is Reminders for emergencies or medical monitoring?

No. Reminders is not an emergency alert system, medical device, patient-monitoring product, medication-adherence system, or source of medical advice. It follows up on care reminders and can notify a trusted backup contact if nobody responds.

Can someone opt out of receiving reminders or notifications?

Yes. You can turn off SMS, remove your phone number, or remove backup contact details. A backup contact can also stop further backup notifications for a reminder.

What happens if I cancel my plan?

Paid Plus features stay active until the end of the billing period. After that, the account moves to Free: the nearest 3 eligible non-priority reminders stay active, non-priority repeat reminders become one-time reminders, SMS follow-ups are disabled, and backup contact follow-up by email is preserved. Priority Reminders stay active for their paid cycle.
